Who runs the site

cmdSave (cmdsave.app and cmdsave.ru) is run by individual entrepreneur D. A. Tolstykh. Contact: support@cmdsave.app.

What is processed

  • The link you paste and the format you choose, to prepare the file.
  • The link or text you paste, as it is: to fix failures and to accept new kinds of links. The site keeps it for two days, not tied to your address or account. If a file fails or the site does not accept a link, support staff see it in a private Telegram chat.
  • If our Telegram bot downloads the file of your link, the site keeps that link for up to 10 minutes so the bot can get it when you press Open in Telegram. The link is not tied to your address or account. It is deleted as soon as the bot takes it, and after 10 minutes in any case.
  • The prepared file. It is deleted 24 hours after it is ready.
  • A session cookie with a random identifier. It lets your browser see its own files and nothing else. It expires after 7 days, or 30 days after you sign in.
  • If you choose to sign in with Telegram: your Telegram ID, name, username and a small copy of your profile photo, as Telegram passes them to the site. They show you that you are signed in and tie your files to your account; the photo is shown only to you. You also allow the cmdSave bot to write to you in Telegram. The site doesn't ask for your phone number, never gets your password and doesn't see your contacts.
  • If you sign in with Telegram: the end date of your Plus. The site gets it from the cmdSave bot so that Plus works on the site too. Jobs started with Plus and their files are visible in every browser where you are signed in to this account.
  • If you ask for a Telegram post in your chat, the site passes your Telegram ID and the post's link to the cmdSave bot. The site and the bot keep these requests for 30 days. While a request is kept, the technical record of that post's download can be linked to your account through it.
  • Your IP address, stored only as a keyed hash to limit abuse. The hash is deleted after one day.
  • Technical records of each download: platform, the ID of the video or post, result, timing and file size. They are used to find and fix failures and to count usage. The site keeps them for 400 days, not linked to any person: a day after your session ends, a record's link to your session and account is deleted.
  • Your language and theme choice. They are kept in your browser only.

What is not done

An account is optional: everything works without signing in. The site doesn't use advertising trackers and doesn't sell data.

Where the data is

The site runs on servers rented from OVH. Domain names are served by Cloudflare. To prepare a file, the servers connect to the source platform, for example YouTube. Yandex keeps the visit statistics (see "Visit statistics: Yandex Metrica" below).

Visit statistics: Yandex Metrica

The site uses Yandex Metrica, a web analytics service of Yandex LLC, to see how the site is used and to improve it. The site doesn't use these statistics for advertising.

  • The address and title of the page, the address you came from and the time of the visit.
  • Your browser and device: type, operating system, screen size and language. Your IP address: Yandex receives it and determines an approximate location from it.
  • What you do on the page: clicks, scrolling and pointer movement. Webvisor records them with the look of the page so that a visit can be replayed. The record includes links pasted into the field and the titles of videos; the name, photo and username of your Telegram account are hidden from it.
  • Events with no personal data: a link sent, the choice of formats shown, a download started, an MP3 requested, a send to Telegram, a sign-in with Telegram, the Plus offer opened.
  • Metrica's cookies: _ym_uid (tells browsers apart, 1 year), _ym_d (the date of the first visit, 1 year), _ym_isad (whether an ad blocker is on, 20 hours), _ym_visorc (Webvisor's work, 30 minutes) and a few other service cookies and localStorage entries. On Yandex's own domains Metrica also sets cookies (yandexuid, i, yuidss, ymex and others) that tell browsers apart. The full list is in Metrica's help on cookies.
  • Whether you closed the cookie notice and whether you turned statistics off. This is kept in your browser only.

Yandex LLC processes this data on behalf of the site's owner. How it does so is set out in the Yandex Metrica Terms of Use and the Yandex Privacy Policy. The site doesn't pass your Telegram ID, name or username to Metrica.

To opt out, turn on the switch below: in this browser the counter then isn't loaded on cmdsave.app. The switch doesn't apply to cmdsave.ru: there, use the "Don't collect" button in the cookie notice while it is shown. To turn Metrica off on every site, cmdsave.ru included, install the Yandex Metrica opt-out add-on in your browser.

Your choices

Clearing cookies ends your session and hides your files from this browser. You can sign out at any time. To ask about your data or request deletion, including your sign-in data, write to support@cmdsave.app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
