Can I download a video that is open only by link?

Yes, if you paste the whole link. VK puts the access key of such a video into its link (list=..., access_key=... or hash=...), and the site keeps it. Without the key VK doesn't show the video.

How do I download only the sound?

Choose the sound in the list. M4A is the video's audio track, saved as VK provides it, without re-encoding. MP3 is made from that sound at 320 kbit/s.

Why does the site give me a YouTube, Rutube or Vimeo link?

Some VK videos are YouTube, Rutube or Vimeo videos that VK only shows in its player. The site then gives the video's link there, and the button under it, such as Download from YouTube, downloads it here.

Why won't a VK video download?

Private videos, videos for community members only, deleted videos and live streams on air can't be downloaded. VK shows some videos, such as those marked 18+, and all stories and music only to signed-in people, and the site uses VK without an account, so it can't get those. Some videos are available only in certain countries, and the site may not be able to get them.

How do I get just the sound?

Choose an audio option in the list. M4A and Opus are saved exactly as the source provides them, without re-encoding. MP3 is made from that sound at 320 kbit/s.

How do I save a video to my phone?

On iPhone, press Save to Photos under the ready file, then Save Video in the menu. The button is there for photos and for MP4 videos in H.264 or HEVC up to 200 MB. For other files, press Download, open the file in the Files app and use Share, then Save Video. On Android the file goes to Downloads and shows up in the gallery.

Why won't a video download?

Private videos, live streams and videos removed by their author can't be downloaded. If a platform limits access for a while, the status page says so. Try again in a few minutes.

How long is the file kept, and are there limits?

A ready file is available for 24 hours and then deleted. One file can be up to 8 GB. You don't need an account.

What does Plus add on the site?

Plus is one subscription for the bot and the site. With it, your jobs on the site go first in the queue, and a full queue still has spare places for them. Up to 4 jobs can run at once. YouTube, VK and Rutube videos other than Shorts and clips, and every Vimeo video, download one at a time. The limit on jobs from one network doesn't apply to Plus. Up to 6 sends to Telegram can run at the same time, and files arrive without the cmdSave caption.
