How to download from X

  1. On X, tap the share icon under the post and then Copy link. The address from the browser works too.
  2. Paste the link in the field above. For a video, choose the quality or the sound. For a post with several photos or videos, you get all of them.
  3. Press Download. Save one file or all of them at once. Files stay available for 24 hours.

What works for X

  • Posts by x.com and twitter.com links, and short t.co links that lead to a post.
  • Videos: every MP4 quality X has for the video, with the sound.
  • GIFs: saved as MP4, the way X stores them, without sound.
  • Photos in their original size. A post with several photos or videos opens as a gallery in the original order.
  • A post that only quotes another one gives the quoted post's videos and photos.
  • The sound of a video in M4A without re-encoding, or in MP3 at 320 kbit/s.
  • Deleted posts can't be downloaded, and neither can posts of protected accounts or posts X shows only to signed-in people: the site uses X without an account.

Which X links work?

Links to posts from the app or the browser: x.com/name/status/..., twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com addresses, short t.co links that lead to a post, embedded posts and old video links. Profiles, Spaces and broadcasts can't be downloaded yet.

Can I download a GIF from X?

Yes. X stores GIFs as short MP4 videos without sound, and the site saves that MP4 as it is. It plays on any phone or computer.

Are photos saved in full size?

Yes. Each photo comes in its original size, the largest one X keeps, not the smaller copy shown in the feed.

How do I save only the sound of a video?

Choose the sound in the list. M4A is the video's audio track without re-encoding. MP3 is made from that sound at 320 kbit/s.

Why won't a post from X download?

Posts of protected accounts and deleted posts can't be downloaded. X also hides some posts from people who aren't signed in, most often posts for adults, and the site uses X without an account, so it can't get those either. The site says which of these it is. If X limits access for a while, try again in a few minutes.

What quality can I get?

Any quality the source has, up to 4K and 8K, with HDR and 60 fps when the video has them. You see the size of every option before downloading.

How do I get just the sound?

Choose an audio option in the list. M4A and Opus are saved exactly as the source provides them, without re-encoding. MP3 is made from that sound at 320 kbit/s.

How do I save a video to my phone?

On iPhone, press Save to Photos under the ready file, then Save Video in the menu. The button is there for photos and for MP4 videos in H.264 or HEVC up to 200 MB. For other files, press Download, open the file in the Files app and use Share, then Save Video. On Android the file goes to Downloads and shows up in the gallery.

Why won't a video download?

Private videos, live streams and videos removed by their author can't be downloaded. If a platform limits access for a while, the status page says so. Try again in a few minutes.

How long is the file kept, and are there limits?

A ready file is available for 24 hours and then deleted. One file can be up to 8 GB. You don't need an account.

What does Plus add on the site?

Plus is one subscription for the bot and the site. With it, your jobs on the site go first in the queue, and a full queue still has spare places for them. Up to 4 jobs can run at once. YouTube, VK and Rutube videos other than Shorts and clips, and every Vimeo video, download one at a time. The limit on jobs from one network doesn't apply to Plus. Up to 6 sends to Telegram can run at the same time, and files arrive without the cmdSave caption. YouTube playlists can be downloaded whole or in part, up to 7 videos at a time, and each video goes to your Telegram. Get Plus for a month or a year in the @CmdSaveBot bot; prices are listed there.
